    5 questions for Cynthia Grady
    1.
What was your favorite book when you were a child?
I absolutely loved The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter as a very young child, and later, I was obsessed with The House at Pooh Corner by A.A. Milne. I think I’ve read Pooh Corner more than a hundred times.
    2.
What’s your favorite line from a book?
Oh, good question. There are so many... I keep a whole notebook of lines that I like! I’ll go with one from Pooh: “Because Poetry and Hums aren't things which you get, they're things which get you. And all you can do is to go where they can find you.”
    3.
Who are your top three favorite authors or illustrators?
This is the hardest question. If I have to choose only three, I’ll choose three favorite poets at this very moment in time: Mary Oliver, Linda Pastan, and Ted Kooser.
    4.
Why did you want to become an author or illustrator?
I want to share my love of language with others. Its beauty and its power.
    5.
Do you have any advice for future authors or illustrators?
Listen to your heart. Everything you need to write is there and is waiting for you to become quiet and still.
