About the Imprint

Lerner PublicationsLerner Publications, founded in 1959, is the flagship imprint of Lerner Publishing Group. Over time, the imprint's mission has evolved to encompass curricular and high-interest nonfiction series for children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Striking photography, lively texts, and fresh designs help young readers understand, enjoy, and share information on topics ranging from history, geography, and science to biographies, sports, and popular interests.

Many Lerner Publications titles support national and state curriculum standards, offering supplemental reading opportunities to help students better understand the content on which they are being tested. The books are designed for easy reading and research, offering key nonfiction book features—tables of contents, chapter titles, subheads, photo captions, sidebars, glossaries, further information suggestions, and indexes—to assist students in locating the information they need.

Note from the Editor

Dear reader,

I've always believed that early learning experiences can spark a lifetime of growth and exploration. As a vocal proponent of what quality nonfiction can offer, I'm proud to be a part of the skilled team here at Lerner. It's with much research and careful consideration that we craft our nonfiction series. We consider curricular angles, eye-catching visuals, text accessibility, and engaging narratives all to be crucial parts of the books we create. Our goal is to provide readers with content not only for reports but also for recreation. Nonfiction can be both fun and factual, after all—and what better way for a young reader to tackle the world than with the confidence of knowing how to find answers and discover new information!
