    About our Illustrator
    Ron Miller
    Ron Miller has worked as a freelance writer and illustrator for more than 30 years. Many of his illustrations appear in magazines like Astronomy and Scientific American. He has also worked on motion pictures and created postage stamps. (One of his stamps is attached to a spacecraft headed for the planet Pluto!) He has also written short stories and novels and has even created a comic book.

    What was your favorite book when you were a child?
    20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne

    Who are your top three favorite authors or illustrators?
    Authors: Jules Verne, Tom Robbins, Robert Benchley; Illustrators: Chesley Bonestell, Arthur Rackham, Stephen Hickman

    Why did you want to become an author or illustrator?
    I've always loved reading and writing and I've always loved art. Being an author who can illustrate his own books is the perfect way to enjoy doing both!

    Do you have any advice for future authors or illustrators?
    Read everything you can get your hands on and read as many different things as you can. Try to pay attention to the way writers say things. One piece of advice to both writers and artists: Practice practice practice!
