About Inside Pocket Publishing

Inside Pocket is an independent publisher due to launch its first nine children's books in 2010, with a further slate of titles scheduled for release in 2011.

We are not limited by genre or format, but we do have a soft spot for new writing. It is harder and harder for good new writing to find a market. Bricks and mortar shelf space is at an all time premium. Publishers are becoming more and more cautious. The marketing spend to stand out from the crowd on-line is enormous. So why in the face of this, do we give special emphasis to new authors? Well, in a market that is becoming increasingly homogenised, we actually see publishing new authors as an opportunity!

At Inside Pocket we invest in far fewer books than the average publisher, but those we do take on all involve new writers or new illustrators (or both) and, above all, they are all exceptionally good reads. We are small but extremely focused. We don't sell books to the public ourselves, we leave that to the booksellers (it's what they do best) and we do what we do best (finding and publishing new books that we love).
